Why we are culpable
I think we are culpable everytime we allow anybody else to speak on our behalf: "educated Bengalis want industry over agriculture", "Hindus want to exterminate the Muslim vermin from the face of their country", "Jews support Israel's attack on Palestine", "Indians consider Kashmir an integral part of the country and believe all Kashmiri Muslims are terrorists who should be raped, burnt and killed", and so on and so forth. I am a legal citizen of this country and I support Kashmir's right to indepence, right to freedom from the tyranny of the Indian army. We must make ourselves heard. Otherwise we'll be complicit in what seems a widely held view:
